Job summary

Fluor Corp in Ras Al-Khair, Saudi Arabia, seeks a Field Superintendent - I&C with extensive experience in mechanical construction, commissioning, and project execution within heavy industrial facilities.

You will lead all I&C field activities, coordinate with engineering and operations, manage EPC/EPCM contractors, ensure safety and quality, and drive on-time handover for large mining and metals projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in mechanical construction, commissioning, or project execution within industrial facilities.
• Minimum 8+ years in a supervisory, superintendent, or area management role.
• Experience with large-scale Mining & Metals, Metals Recycling, Minerals Processing, Chemical Processing, or Heavy Industrial Projects.
• Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment, bulk materials handling, mechanical packages, and piping systems.
• Hands-on experience with construction management, commissioning, and plant start-up.
• Experience managing EPC/EPCM contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with ASME, API, ISO standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead all mechanical construction, installation, commissioning, and start-up activities within the assigned area.
• Manage the execution of mechanical equipment installation (crushers, shredders, conveyors, reactors, pumps, tanks, V vessels, heat exchangers).
• Coordinate with engineering, process, electrical, instrumentation, and operations teams for integration of mechanical systems.
• Oversee EPC/EPCM contractors and subcontractors to meet specs, quality, safety, and schedules.
• Monitor progress, productivity, manpower, and resources to hit milestones.
• Lead pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover to ensure performance.
• Resolve technical and construction issues and mitigate risks.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, procedures, and HSE.

Requirements/Qualification:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Lead all mechanical construction, installation, commissioning, and start-up activities within the assigned area of the metals recycling facility.

• Manage the execution of mechanical equipment installation, including crushers, shredders, conveyors, reactors, pumps, tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and material handling systems.

• Coordinate closely with engineering, process, electrical, instrumentation, and operations teams to ensure successful integration of mechanical systems.

• Oversee EPC/EPCM contractors and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and schedules.

• Monitor construction progress, productivity, manpower utilization, and resource requirements to achieve project milestones.

• Lead mechanical pre-commissioning, commissioning, functional testing, and handover activities to ensure systems meet operational performance requirements.

• Resolve technical and construction issues, identifying risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies.

• Ensure all mechanical works are executed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, project procedures, and HSE requirements.

• Review and approve contractor work plans, method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and progress reports.

• Provide leadership and mentorship to engineers, supervisors, and field personnel while promoting a culture of safety, quality, and execution excellence.
