Job summary

SIG is a leading packaging solutions provider seeking a Field Service Engineer to service filling lines at customer sites in Saudi Arabia. You will perform on-site maintenance, troubleshoot, and optimize machinery to maximize uptime and productivity, while coordinating with customers and internal teams.

Applicants should have a technical degree (Mechatronics/Automation/EE), strong English, and 5–6 years in aseptic or food sectors with hands-on field experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Mechatronics/Automation/Electrical Eng.).
  • Advanced English; Arabic is an advantage.
  • Strong IT and diagnostic skills for machinery operation.
  • Extensive field service and customer-interaction experience.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, service and maintain filling lines at customer sites to ensure uptime.
  • Troubleshoot issues, provide on-site support, and optimize performance.
  • Prepare detailed visit reports and SOPs, recording findings.
  • Lead installation and commissioning activities as required.
  • Order spare parts and coordinate with customers for approvals.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards during all activities.

Job description

  • Ensure the operational efficiency of filling machine lines at customer sites by performing service and maintenance duties while considering commercial conditions.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, provide support, and optimize machinery performance to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanics, electromechanics, automation, instrumentation, and controls.
  • Perform inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting at customer sites.
  • Prepare technical reports, document customer complaints, and escalation issues to the appropriate department.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customer staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Order and manage spare parts requirements in alignment with customer approvals.
  • Implement necessary modifications and upgrades to ensure equipment efficiency.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of filling lines as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards during all service activities.
  • Maintain strong communication with customers to understand their needs and provide proactive technical support.
  • Prepare detailed visit and troubleshooting reports, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to resolve recurring issues and improve service delivery.

  • Technical expertise in aseptic technology, preferably in automation, with a general mechanical and electrical background in food filling machines and packaging lines

  • Proficient in using service apps for data collection and maintaining accurate records.
You Bring These Skills, Experience & Education
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical Discipline, preferably in Mechatronics, Automation, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Skills: Advanced proficiency in English (Arabic is an advantage), strong IT and diagnostic skills relevant to machinery operation and maintenance, high-level technical reporting skills, including visit and troubleshooting reports, ability to utilize service apps for data collection
  • Experience: 5-6 years experience in the aseptic industry and/or food sector preferred, proven track record in Field Service with extensive customer interaction, 3-5 years of hands-on vocational experience in technical service roles, 3-5 years leadership experience in technical field operations
