Job description

WKC is seeking an Environmental Scientist / EIA / Ecologist with experience in field surveys and strong technical writing skills, including a basic understanding of statistics. Strong terrestrial ecosystem survey skills are highly desirable, as is experience in ecological impact assessments.

The role involves conducting desk studies on terrestrial and marine ecology, performing field surveys, assisting with ecological impact assessments, and providing mitigation for protected flora and fauna across various development projects in the KSA. Additional responsibilities include report writing, maintaining survey equipment, and proposal development.

The ideal candidate should have at least three years of experience working in KSA and conducting ecological assessments.

Main responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborating with WKC’s ecology team on field surveys.
  2. Analyzing data and species distribution patterns.
  3. Managing field survey teams.
  4. Assisting with habitat surveys and identifying habitat types, flora, and fauna.
  5. Writing reports and maintaining ecological survey equipment.
  6. Understanding wildlife legislation and policy in the Arabian Peninsula and communicating this effectively.
  7. Keeping accurate field notes and managing data efficiently.
