Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Test Manager to plan, coordinate, and execute end-to-end testing for complex enterprise applications with a focus on WebServices and API testing using Postman and SoapUI.

The role emphasizes robust test coverage, data integrity validation via SQL, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in an office-based environment. ISTQB Advanced certification is required.

Qualifications

• Proficient in WebServices Testing and API testing with REST endpoints.
• Strong SQL skills for data validation across multiple tables.
• Experience validating Rest API endpoints, response codes and payload structures.
• Hands-on with Postman collections and environment configurations.
• Experience with SoapUI for API/service testing.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive comprehensive test strategy and planning for WebServices and API testing.
• Coordinate end-to-end test execution aligned with sprint goals and project timelines.
• Design detailed test cases and reusable test suites for API testing.
• Execute manual and automated test scenarios for REST APIs and backend services.
• Craft complex SQL queries for data verification across systems.
• Collaborate with architecture, development and BA teams on requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Review API docs to derive test conditions addressing edge cases and security.
• Manage defect lifecycle from logging to closure with root cause analysis.
• Monitor quality metrics and report progress for release readiness.
• Implement reusable frameworks and standards for API testing across projects.
• Mentor junior engineers in API testing and SQL validation.
