Job summary

Egis is seeking an experienced Design Manager - Master Planning to lead large-scale urban development projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, translate client vision into master plans, and ensure compliance with local regulations and market needs.

You will oversee feasibility analyses, coordinate with authorities, and drive sustainable design strategies while managing budgets and timelines for complex developments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in master planning, urban design, or large-scale development projects.
• Proven expertise in developing comprehensive master plans for mixed-use, residential, commercial, or mixed-development projects.
• Advanced proficiency with design and planning software including AutoCAD, Revit, GIS, and 3D modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization, development, and execution of master planning projects from inception through completion.
• Manage and mentor a team of designers, planners, and technical specialists, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Conduct detailed site analysis and feasibility studies to inform strategic planning recommendations.
• Develop comprehensive master plans utilizing industry-standard design software and modeling tools.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, clients, and municipal authorities to ensure project alignment with regulatory requirements and local development guidelines.
• Analyze market trends, demographic data, and economic factors to inform design strategies and recommendations.
• Prepare and present detailed design proposals, visualizations, and reports to clients and internal leadership.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Ensure all designs meet sustainability standards and incorporate best practices in urban design and environmental planning.
• Review and quality-assure all design deliverables to maintain organizational standards and client expectations.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving best practices in master planning and urban design.

In this strategic leadership role, you will oversee the comprehensive planning and design of large-scale master planning projects, guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, sustainable, and commercially viable urban development solutions. You will be responsible for translating client vision into detailed master plans while ensuring alignment with local regulations, market demands, and organizational standards.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in developing comprehensive master plans for mixed-use, residential, commercial, or mixed-development projects
• Advanced proficiency with design and planning software including AutoCAD, Revit, GIS, and 3D modeling tools
• Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and local planning standards, with familiarity of Saudi Arabian regulations preferred
• Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams and leading design-focused projects
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable design strategies
• Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to articulate design concepts to diverse audiences
• Project management experience including budget oversight, scheduling, and resource management
• Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and advanced visualization techniques
• Knowledge of sustainable design principles and green building standards
• Familiarity with the Middle Eastern market and development context is highly desirable
• Proficiency in stakeholder management and client relationship building
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
