The role focuses on safe execution, effective site coordination, progress monitoring and reporting, and interface management with key stakeholders (Client, Supervision Consultant, Designer, authorities, utilities and other contractors). The Deputy Project Manager contributes to achieving the project’s time, cost, quality and HSE objectives, while developing project leadership capabilities under the guidance of the Project Manager.

Tasks and Duties
  • Support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and controlling the execution of the bridges works (foundations, substructure, superstructure, deck works, bearings, expansion joints, parapets/barriers, approaches and tie‑ins).
  • Coordinate daily site activities and resources, ensuring work fronts are ready and constraints are removed (drawings, approvals, materials, access, permits, traffic management).
  • Lead weekly look‑ahead planning and support short‑term sequencing to protect key milestones and productivity targets.
  • Track progress and productivity, and prepare weekly/monthly reports, dashboards and narrative updates for internal and external reporting.
  • Coordinate with engineering and procurement teams to ensure timely approvals and delivery of long‑lead items and critical materials.
  • Promote and enforce HSE requirements; support risk assessments, method statement reviews and planning for high‑risk activities (lifting operations, working at height, traffic interface, night works, formwork/falsework).
  • Support QA/QC implementation by ensuring ITPs, inspections, testing and documentation are completed; assist in resolving NCRs and closing punch lists.
  • Support subcontractor management: coordination, performance monitoring, progress follow‑up and compliance with project requirements.
  • Manage interfaces with roads/earthworks, utilities diversions, temporary works and authorities to ensure continuity of works and minimise disruption.
  • Participate in meetings with the Client/Consultant/Designer and ensure action items are followed up and closed.
  • Support the Project Manager and commercial team with change control inputs (site records, quantities, progress data, event tracking) to enable evaluation of variations or delays.
  • Guide and support engineers and site staff through structured communication, disciplined reporting and on‑the‑job coaching.
