Job summary

AVAR in Red Sea region seeks a Shift Technician - Electrical to maintain critical electrical systems within our data centre, ensuring continuous power and safety across shifts. You will work with AC/DC loads, rectifiers, UPS, LV panels, switchgear, and BMS/CCTV/fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities include monitoring HVAC data via BMS, recording readings, complying with HSE policies, and providing urgent support on a rotating schedule, including nights and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in a data centre electrical technician role.
• Technical diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Willingness to work across changing shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficient in operating and extracting data from BMS, CCTV, and fire alarm systems.
• Strong understanding of AC and DC electrical loads and rectifier systems.
• Experience in monitoring HVAC parameters and using BMS for facility monitoring.
• Adherence to HSE requirements and safe workplace practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain electrical systems in the data centre across shifts.
• Read and extract reports from BMS, CCTV, and fire alarm panels and inform the engineering team.
• Manage AC/DC loads and rectifier systems for safety and stability.
• Operate and check rectifiers, UPS, LV panels, switchgear, busway systems, BMS, and related equipment.
• Record HVAC parameters via BMS to ensure optimal environment for equipment.
• Log readings and escalate anomalies to engineers and supervisors promptly.
• Follow all HSE policies and promote safe practices.
• Provide 24/7 support across rotating shifts.
