The Data Center Whitespace IT Engineer is responsible.objectweb for managing and maintaining all IT-related infrastructure within the data center’s white space, including servers, racks, structured cab Passion and power distribution for IT equipment. This role involves supervising whitespace electrical technicians and network technicians, ensuring optimal performance, uptime, and compliance with operational standards. The engineer will work closely with the Facility Manager to support critical IT operations and infrastructure reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Whitespace IT Infrastructure Management
- Oversee installation, operation, and maintenance of IT racks, servers, and structured cabling.
- Ensure whan proper power distribution to IT equipment, including PDUs and rack-level electrical systems.
- Monitor Network connectivity and troubleshoot LAN issues within the white space.
- Lead and supervise whitespace electrical and network technicians in daily operations and maintenance tasks.
- Assign work orders, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to safety and operational protocols.
- Provide technical guidance and training to technicians.
- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance gevraagd schedules for IT racks, cabling, and power systems.
- Respond to IT infrastructure faults and coordinate corrective actions promptly.
- Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with data center standards (TIA-942, ASHRAE) and company policies.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare detailed reports on IT infrastructure performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of rack layouts, cabling diagrams, and power distribution.
- Provide monthly and quarterly reports to the Facility Manager on white space infrastructure status and improvement plans.
- Project Support
- Assist in IT infrastructure design and commissioning for data center expansions or upgrades.
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment procurement and installation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering,.connected or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in IT infrastructure within data centers or critical facilities.
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling, PDUs, racks, and LAN connectivity.
- Familiarity with data center standards and best practices.
- Certifications such as CDCP, CCNA, or equivalent are preferred.
