Job summary

Paramount Computer Systems Co is seeking an Application & Security Architecture Consultant to review and strengthen the organization’s cybersecurity toolset and architecture. You will assess current security applications, identify gaps, and deliver prioritized recommendations to reduce risk.

The role requires 3–7 years in cybersecurity, hands-on evaluation of SIEM/EDR/IAM and network security tools, and strong knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and Zero Trust.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 3-7 years of experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, or security consulting roles
• Hands-on experience evaluating and deploying security tools such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, IAM/PAM, firewalls, DLP, CASB, and vulnerability management platforms
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards (NCA, NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, Zero Trust, MITRE ATT&CK)
• Working knowledge of cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP) and hybrid environments
• Relevant certifications preferred: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, SABSA, or vendor-specific security certifications
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
• Prior consulting or advisory experience is a strong plus

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive audits of the organization's cybersecurity applications, tools, and platforms to assess coverage and gaps.
• Evaluate the ROI of current tools and recommend consolidation or upgrades.
• Design and maintain the enterprise security architecture roadmap aligned to business objectives.
• Identify gaps and propose remediation plans with timelines and owners.
• Define security architecture standards and reference architectures across the org.
• Review configuration and deployment of security apps for optimal tuning, not just installation.
• Perform vendor evaluations including proof-of-concept testing and cost-benefit analysis.
• Collaborate with IT/DevOps to embed security into projects and SDLC processes.
• Assess integration between security tools to reduce blind spots and alert fatigue.
• Recommend automation and SOAR opportunities to improve detection and response.
• Review risk assessments and threat modeling for critical apps and third parties.
• Review controls across network, endpoint, cloud, and applications to reduce attack surface.
• Support incident response and forensics by evaluating tool visibility.
• Develop findings and roadmaps in clear business terms for leadership.
• Ensure tools comply with GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOC 2; maintain inventory docs.
