Overview

A Snapshot of your day: In the Field Service Commissioning and control's role, the individual is responsible for commissioning and servicing Siemens Energy, Dresser, and non-OEM compressors and auxiliary equipment globally. Acting as a vital intermediary, the Commissioning engineer liaises between customers and our company, collaborating with management, sales, and technical support to ensure service integrity, while focusing on turbo compressors and being accountable for all commissioning and controls activities during equipment installation and overhaul during service outages ensuring adherence to OEM specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead the commissioning of compressors, control systems and auxiliary systems, ensuring adherence to OEM specifications and quality standards.
  • Manage and troubleshoot control systems, ensuring efficient operation and problem-solving.
  • Interpret P&ID, electrical and controls documentation and other OEM installation instructions to verify accurate installation and function.
  • Conduct trouble shooting and root cause analyses and provide detailed technical reports to clients.
  • Write comprehensive technical reports following service outages, documenting findings, actions taken, and recommendations for future improvements.
  • Maintain safety and foster a Zero-harm culture by following and enforcing all company and customer EHS policies.
  • Perform duties on the day or night shift under difficult conditions, such as heat, cold, and noise, and be able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Engage with clients professionally to ensure customer satisfaction, protecting company interests and identifying opportunities for additional funding.
What You Bring
  • Educational Background: Engineering degree with equivalent years of experience, along with a minimum of 5-7 years of directly related experience in the commissioning of turbo compressor packages and related equipment.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Extensive commissioning experience with systems such as MCC (Motor Control Center), electrical motors, heaters, fans, frequency converters, control cubicles, loop testing, instrument calibration, surge mapping, troubleshooting, and startup, L/O flushing among other related equipment and processes.
    • Proficient in managing and commissioning control systems such as Siemens S7/PCS7/T3000, Allen Bradley, and ABB, with adaptability to other systems.
    • Familiarity with Siemens Energy and Dresser Rand compressors and auxiliary systems, with beneficial knowledge of other manufacturers.
  • Process and Logic understanding: Strong knowledge of compressor logics and process knowledge, ensuring efficient commissioning and troubleshooting of systems.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Skilled in writing comprehensive technical reports post-commissioning, documenting findings, actions taken, and recommendations for future improvements.
  • Analytical Skills: Conduct thorough root cause analyses when necessary, communicating progress, schedules, and recommendations to clients, while preparing detailed technical reports.
  • Basic commercial knowledge to comprehend contract work and identify opportunities for additional funding, with a commitment to spending most of the work time at customer sites, both domestically and internationally.
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain a Zero-harm culture by adhering to all company and customer EHS policies, ensuring safe and compliant operations.
  • Physical Requirements: Capable of climbing ladders, working around machinery, and evacuating work areas in emergencies. Ability to stand for extended periods and walk long distances is required. The candidate must be eligible for offshore work and pass the necessary offshore medical examinations.
