AtkinsRéalis in Saudi Arabia seeks a Civil Engineer to supervise and coordinate bridge and infrastructure construction, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, project schedules, quality standards and safety requirements. You will lead site teams, review methodologies, and support project planning and reporting to ensure on-time delivery.
Minimum 8–12 years in major civil and infrastructure projects, with 5+ years in bridge construction.
The Civil Engineer will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and monitoring the construction of bridge and infrastructure works on the Projects. The role will ensure that all construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Supervise day-to-day bridge and infrastructure construction activities. Ensure works are performed in accordance with approved IFC drawings, technical specifications, project procedures, and contract requirements. Monitor construction progress and provide technical support to site teams. Review construction methodologies and ensure compliance with approved method statements. Coordinate construction activities to ensure timely project delivery.
Ensure compliance with bridge geometry, alignment, and structural tolerances. Coordinate with survey and quality teams to verify setting‑out and structural positioning.
Coordinate interfaces between bridge structures and associated infrastructure works. Identify and resolve construction challenges affecting project delivery.
Ensure all works comply with project quality requirements and applicable standards. Review inspection requests and support material approvals. Coordinate inspections with consultants, client representatives, and quality teams. Verify completed works prior to inspections and handover. Review and support the preparation of as‑built records and documentation.
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders. Attend progress review meetings and technical coordination meetings. Review site issues and provide practical engineering solutions. Ensure timely resolution of technical queries and design‑related issues. Support the engineering team in implementing design revisions and approved changes.
Monitor project schedules and identify potential delays. Assist in short‑term and long‑term construction planning activities. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports. Track productivity and construction performance against project targets. Support project controls and planning teams with progress assessments.
Ensure construction activities comply with project HSE requirements. Promote a strong safety culture across all work areas. Participate in safety inspections, toolbox talks, and incident investigations as required. Ensure safe execution of high‑risk activities including lifting operations, work at height, excavations, and temporary works.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Master's Degree in Structural Engineering or Construction Management is advantageous. Professional registration with a recognized engineering institution is preferred.
Minimum 8‑12 years of experience in major civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Minimum 5 years of relevant bridge construction experience. Experience on large‑scale infrastructure projects within Saudi Arabia or the GCC is highly desirable. Previous experience working with international consultants, contractors, or government infrastructure programs is preferred.
