Position Overview
The Civil Engineer (Inspector) is responsible for conducting site inspections, ensuring compliance with construction standards, and verifying adherence to approved design drawings. The role involves detailed inspection of civil works, documentation of site conditions, and coordination with clients and project teams.

Duties
- On a daily basis, the inspector should check his schedule/email for new assigned site visits.
- Inspector should make sure to have all needed data/documents/drawings before performing a site inspection and review all drawings/bar bending schedules/construction details related to the construction stage to be inspected.
- Inspector should prepare an INR with client/project’s information before performing a site visit.
- Inspector should contactlıkl the client one day prior to site inspection to coordinate the time and request the required documents based on the inspection stage.
- Inspector is responsible for performing the site inspection in person and not remotely for any reason, and is liable for visually inspecting the site and taking pictorial evidence for the required inspection points, as mentioned in the INR checklist.
- Before performing the site visit, based on prepared nice, the inspector should ask for the latest drawings considered by the contractor during site construction to ensure that the inspection is done מומ. If the considered plans on site are different from the received drawings from MALATH, the inspector should ask the client to send PRIME APAVE and MALATH a copy of the latest approved drawings.
- The inspector should highlight to the client during site inspection the noted deviations from drawings, construction mistakes, missing rebar, untied rebar, etc. The inspector should inform the client that the noted deviation should be eliminated. Pictorial evidence of the deviations should be saved to the project file in Google Drive.
- INR or RD5:
- If no comment has been noted or the noted deviations are minor errors and the client has modified them during time inspection, the inspector should issue INR after filling all needed data/pictorial evidence in the report.
- If many minor defects have been noted and the client was not able to eliminate the deviation on the spot, a revision should be scheduled (paid revisit). INR will be issued based on revisit inspection outputs.
- If the noted deviations are major (slab type modified, structural element dimensions are not in line with drawings, missing structural element, structural failure noted in any structural element, etc.) the inspector should inform the client and notify him that an RD5 will be issued. Pictorial evidence should be added to RD5 report for reference. The inspector should inform his team leader, by email, so that a copy of RD5 will be shared with MALAT and the client for their reference.
- If the client eliminates the defects from the site and informs PRIME APAVE, a revisit should be done to ensure that all the previous highlighted errors have been modified and are structurally acceptable. Pictorial evidence should be saved to the revisit inspection report.
- The inspector should submit all his reports for the performed site visit on daily basis, by adding a copy to the project's deliverables file in Appsheet.
- The inspector should send an email to the team leader, on daily basis, in which he will summarize the status of scheduled project’s site visits:
- Inspection performed / no major deviation / INR issued
- Inspection performed / many minor deviations / revisit to be rescheduled žmog.
- Inspection performed / Major deviations / RD5 issued
- Inspection not performed since the site is not ready for inspection / revisit to be rescheduled
Responsibilities
- Conduct on الاقتص inspections as per the assigned schedule.
- Verify construction works against approved drawings and technical specifications.
- Identify deviations and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Communicate effectively with clients and contractors regarding inspection outcomes.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, including pictorial evidence.
- Maintain proper documentation and records of inspections.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in civil inspection.
- Certifications: Must be registered with the Saudi Council of Engineers.
- Language: Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
