Job summary

Libera Consultants Ltd., on behalf of a leading petrochemical company in Saudi Arabia, seeks a seasoned General Auditor to lead the Internal Audit function and strengthen governance, delivering independent assurance to Senior Management and the Board Audit Committee. The role covers enterprise risk management, internal controls, fraud prevention, and corporate governance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree mandatory
• Master's degree or MBA advantageous
• Professional certification required: CIA, CISA, CPA, CMA, CFE or equivalent
• Extensive experience in internal auditing, risk management, internal controls, and governance
• Proven experience leading an Internal Audit function and managing audit teams
• Strong knowledge of risk-based auditing methodologies, IIA standards, and regulatory compliance

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Internal Audit function, ensuring alignment with objectives, regulatory requirements, and international auditing standards
• Develop and implement internal audit strategies, charters, policies, methodologies, and procedures
• Establish and execute a risk-based annual audit plan covering operations, financial controls, governance, and compliance
• Provide independent assurance and advisory services to the Board Audit Committee and Senior Management
• Evaluate the effectiveness of enterprise risk management, internal controls, fraud prevention, and governance frameworks
• Oversee internal audit engagements, advisory reviews, and special investigations
• Review and approve audit findings, reports, recommendations, and corrective action plans
• Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and management action plans
• Ensure compliance with IIA standards and Saudi regulations
• Identify emerging business risks and recommend governance and operational improvements
• Coordinate with external auditors, shareholders, consultants, and JV stakeholders
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Internal Audit team and oversee budgets and resources
