Job summary

UCC Holding in Riyadh is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead the organization's accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and regulatory compliance. You will supervise the accounting team, guide training, and support timely financial reporting.

You will develop and implement policies and controls to safeguard assets, coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities, and provide strategic financial analysis to senior management for informed decision-making.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Supervise and provide leadership to accounting staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard assets.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements).
• Manage month-end and year-end closings, including reconciliations and adjustments.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies for audits and compliance.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management, including variance and KPI analysis.
• Monitor financial performance and identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Develop relationships with internal stakeholders to provide financial guidance.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulatory trends.
• Support HSE initiatives and IMS-aligned safety reporting.

The Chief Accountant manages the accounting functions within an organization, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. They are responsible for supervising the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Additionally, the Chief Accountant plays a key role in developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks. They also manage relationships with external stakeholders, such as auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance with audit requirements and regulatory standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Supervise and provide leadership to accounting staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation, to maintain a high level of productivity and professionalism within the team.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and safeguard Company assets.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely financial information to management and stakeholders.
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments, to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial reporting.
• Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits, reviews, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and key performance indicators, to support decision-making and strategic planning.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, such as department heads and business unit leaders, to provide financial guidance, support, and expertise as needed.
• Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and ensure compliance and alignment with best practices in accounting and financial reporting.
• Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies
