Job summary

First Point Group in Saudi Arabia invites a seasoned Business Unit Head - Data Center to build and lead the Group's data centre business, shaping strategy and driving growth across Saudi Arabia and the GCC. This business-building role offers autonomy, exposure to senior leadership, and a mandate to create a scalable data centre platform.

You will assemble and lead cross-functional teams, own P&L, and establish partnerships with hyperscalers, developers, OEMs and EPCs, delivering end-to-end

Qualifications

• 20+ years of relevant industry experience.
• 10+ years in senior leadership or management positions.
• Strong commercial and business development capability.
• Experience building or growing a Data Centre business or regional operation.
• Uptime Institute, CDCP, CDCS or equivalent certifications would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Developing and executing the Data Centre business strategy and 3-year growth roadmap.
• Building relationships with hyperscalers, Data Centre developers, operators, cloud providers, telecoms, government entities, consultants and EPCs.
• Identifying and leading major opportunities across hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, modular and AI/HPC Data Centres.
• Establishing strategic partnerships with leading OEMs, technology providers and specialist contractors.
• Leading major tenders, commercial negotiations, pricing and value engineering.
• Providing leadership across the full Data Centre lifecycle, from concept and design through to commissioning and handover.
• Building the Engineering, Business Development, Commercial, Projects and Operations functions required to support the growth of the business.
• Taking ownership of business targets, revenue, margin and long-term profitability.

Job description

We are currently supporting a well-established and highly respected Saudi-based engineering and infrastructure group with the appointment of a Business Unit Head - Data Center.

This is a business-building opportunity, rather than a traditional technical or sales leadership role.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to establish and lead the Group's Data Centre business, shaping its strategy, developing key customer and technology partnerships, building the team and taking ownership of growth and profitability across Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC.

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for:

• Developing and executing the Data Centre business strategy and 3-year growth roadmap
• Building relationships with hyperscalers, Data Centre developers, operators, cloud providers, telecoms, government entities, consultants and EPCs
• Identifying and leading major opportunities across hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, modular and AI/HPC Data Centres
• Establishing strategic partnerships with leading OEMs, technology providers and specialist contractors
• Leading major tenders, commercial negotiations, pricing and value engineering
• Providing leadership across the full Data Centre lifecycle, from concept and design through to commissioning and handover
• Building the Engineering, Business Development, Commercial, Projects and Operations functions required to support the growth of the business

A key part of the role will be developing the Group Data Centre Strategic Plan within the first 90-120 days, defining target markets, customers, opportunities, partnerships, organisational requirements and the roadmap for growth.

What We're Looking For:

We are looking for a business builder with:

• 20+ years of relevant industry experience
• 10+ years in senior leadership or management positions
• Strong commercial and business development capability
• Experience building or significantly growing a Data Centre business or regional operation
• Strong Saudi Arabia / GCC market knowledge and an established industry network
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and P&L
• Strong technical credibility across Data Centre infrastructure
• Uptime Institute, CDCP, CDCS or equivalent certifications would be highly advantageous.
