In this senior role, you will own the client‑agency relationship, driving both creative excellence and commercial success. You will spearhead fully 360° marketing campaigns across all channels (TV, OOH, digital, social, experiential), ensuring they are effective, innovative, and culturally resonant for the Saudi market. Fluency in English and Arabic is essential, as local insight and language are key to delivering campaigns that truly connect with consumers. Responsibilities
- Lead Client Partnership: Serve as the primary lead for a large automotive client, managing the end‑to‑end client relationship and acting as a trusted strategic advisor. Ensure client satisfaction by delivering solutions that address their business needs and marketing challenges.
- 360° Campaign Leadership: Develop and oversee the execution of fully integrated marketing campaigns across all channels (ATL, BTL, digital, social, PR, experiential). Work with strategists and media planners to translate client briefs into effective communication strategies, ensuring integrated work is delivered for the client across different platforms. Champion creative ideas that resonate with automotive consumers and meet the client’s objectives.
- Strategic Planning & Insight: Provide strong strategic direction for the automotive account, leveraging your industry knowledge to inform campaign planning. Stay up‑to‑date on market trends (e.g., emerging automotive marketing trends in KSA) and consumer insights, using data and research to guide decision‑making. The Saudi automotive market is evolving quickly – from digital transformation to changing consumer behaviours – and you will ensure our client’s campaigns stay ahead of the curve.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration: Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary account team (account managers, creatives, planners, etc.), fostering an environment of collaboration, high performance, and growth. Lead by example to inspire and motivate both your team and agency partners to produce top‑quality work. Coordinate with internal departments and external partner agencies as needed, ensuring everyone is aligned towards the client’s goals.
- Financial Management: Take full P&L responsibility for the account. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to ensure the account remains profitable and growing. Negotiate contracts and fees with the client (and any partner vendors) as needed, while ensuring deliverables stay within scope and budget. Monitor campaign performance and ROI, demonstrating commercial acumen in maximising value for both the client and the agency.
- Client Growth & Business Development: Drive the growth of the client’s business with the agency. Identify opportunities to expand our services or implement new initiatives that further the client’s marketing goals. While this role is focused on an existing major client, you will also approach any new opportunities or pitches (including organic growth) with a creative and commercial mindset to help grow the account.
- Quality Control & Accountability: Ensure the delivery of high‑quality creative work that meets the client’s brand standards and business objectives. Review and approve campaign plans, creative briefs, and deliverables, providing clear feedback to teams. Uphold accountability for results, using analytics and post‑campaign reviews to measure success and recommend improvements.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with senior client stakeholders (e.g., Marketing Directors, brand managers) through proactive communication, trust, and thought leadership. Act as the voice of the client within the agency and the voice of the agency to the client, ensuring transparency and alignment. Manage expectations and maintain a solution‑oriented approach to any challenges.
Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in advertising, marketing, or communications agencies, with at least 3‑5 years in a leadership role (e.g., Account Director, Business Director, or similar). Significant experience managing automotive brand campaigns is required – you have led multi‑channel marketing initiatives for automotive clients (OEMs, dealerships, or automotive products) and understand the unique dynamics of the auto industry.
- 360° Campaign Expertise: Proven ability to strategise and execute fully integrated campaigns that span traditional and digital channels. You understand how to combine TV, print, outdoor, and radio with digital, social, and experiential marketing into one cohesive strategy for maximum impact. (Experience in launching car models, dealership marketing, or automotive product campaigns is a strong plus.)
- Bilingual Communication: Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken and written) is essential. You can develop and review content in both languages and communicate effectively with clients and teams in a bilingual environment. Localised marketing is crucial in Saudi Arabia – consumers respond best to campaigns that reflect local culture and language. Your bilingual skills will enable you to ensure messaging is culturally relevant and impactful.
- Leadership & Team Management: Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing people. You are adept at inspiring and guiding cross‑functional teams to deliver their best work. Strong interpersonal skills are a must – you can mentor junior staff, provide clear direction, and foster a collaborative team spirit.
- Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Sharp strategic thinking abilities with a knack for problem‑solving and innovation. You can interpret market research and data to inform strategy, and you stay informed about industry trends (e.g., the growing importance of digital and data‑driven marketing in KSA). You take a data‑informed approach to decision‑making and are comfortable defining KPIs and evaluating campaign performance.
- Client Servicing & Presentation: Excellent client service skills with the ability to build trust and long‑term relationships at a senior level. You are confident in presenting ideas, campaign plans, and results to clients. You possess strong negotiation skills and can handle high‑stakes discussions (for example, on budgets or campaign direction) calmly and effectively.
- Business Acumen: Solid understanding of agency business operations and financials. You can manage account budgets, forecast revenue, and ensure profitability while still delivering value to the client. A commercially astute mindset is important – you recognise opportunities for account growth and know how to balance creative ambitions with business objectives.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field is preferred (or equivalent professional experience). An advanced degree or professional certifications in advertising/marketing would be a plus.
- Adaptability: Willingness and ability to relocate to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia if you are not already based here. (We provide relocation support for candidates coming from abroad.) You embrace new cultures and environments. Experience working in the Middle East/North Africa region or other international markets is beneficial. You must be able to adapt to and respect the local business culture and norms.
- Availability: Able to start as soon as possible. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and lead this account without delay, as the client’s new campaigns are already on the horizon.
