Business Development Manager, Associates Marketing

The XCM (Cross Channel, Cross Category Marketing) team at Amazon India is seeking a talented, highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to lead Category growth for Amazon Associates Program, a global leader in online marketing and one of the largest paid advertising channels for Amazon. Associates business is an integral part of the Amazon marketing mix, bringing new customers to the site, driving existing customers to discover new products or programs, including the many benefits of Amazon Prime. With its global network of over 1MM associates (publishers, bloggers and more) and influencers, the Associates program is a leader in online marketing and one of the largest paid marketing channels for Amazon. Our Associates BD Team directly collaborates with strategic partners to build new, industry-specific partnership opportunities that directly impact and transform the way our Associates can partner, create, and earn from us at scale.

We are seeking a business development manager to drive growth for Amazon Fashion, Beauty and Other Hardlines core categories, working closely with Category Marketing and Associates’ Business & Product teams. As a customer-obsessed, online commerce enthusiast, you will influence and build relationships with the top Associates, and help them to generate revenue, build audience development strategies to reach new customers, and tailor their content to grow core categories.

The ideal candidate understands how Amazon’s selection and services help associates to monetize their content across formats, and mediums, engaging customers wherever it is they spend their time online. You will use your knowledge of digital and social media and a solutions-oriented mindset to recruit and engage associates, and grow their business with Amazon through your support, maximizing their earning potential. The ideal candidate is an excellent oral and written communicator, who leads with data, and takes an analytical approach to business development and decision making. You are highly organized, entrepreneurial in spirit, constantly inventing on behalf of associates, and embracing a strong growth mindset. You excel at developing strong relationships and working closely and constructively with external partners.

Key job responsibilities
  • Develop and drive monthly/quarterly/annual/long-term Core Category and revenue growth objectives for new and existing Associates
  • Pitch and negotiate to recruit and/or drive special deal terms with new and existing Associates to achieve growth strategy, including leveraging economic and non-economic incentives. Work closely with account owners to drive Core Category goals
  • Monitor and optimize Associates performance to achieve goals. Develop methodologies and own data analysis and measurement
  • Represent the voice of the customer (and Associates) to all stakeholders, driving for cross-functional solutions and tech innovations to meet customers' and associates’ most critical needs
  • Engage internal and external stakeholder leaders of all levels across business, marketing, finance, program and product to drive initiatives

  • Be commercially savvy and excellent business judgment

Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years of professional or military experience
  • 2+ years of generating new opportunities with strong focus on pipeline tracking and deal execution through entire sales cycle experience
  • 2+ years of exceeding quota and key performance metrics experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and record of success in an outbound account management or prospecting role in B2B environments, preferably in a solution/technology-related environment
  • Experience using Salesforce.com at an advanced level including the development of dashboards and reports, programing experience
