Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking an experienced Body-in-White Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the deployment of new products and equipment. You will collaborate with Project Management, Vehicle Integration, Design Engineering, Logistics, NPI, Operations and other cross-functional teams to ensure BIW lines meet customer specifications.

The role emphasizes risk management, process optimization, and manufacturing strategy development for BIW programs and production expansions.

Qualifications

5+ years in Body in White Engineering/Project Management.
Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
Experience in automotive manufacturing environments preferred.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and DFx reviews a plus.

Responsibilities

Generate RFQs for Body in White equipment and vet integrator proposals
Review all project phases to SOP and follow-up open issue list
Execute and document FAT/SAT buyoffs with integrators
Gain holistic knowledge of product production processes and manufacturing technologies to identify risks and optimization opportunities
Develop and maintain risk assessments to mitigate timeline and cost impacts
Report project updates to Manufacturing leadership
Lead manufacturing equipment project charter creation and maintenance
Monitor design change impacts on budgets and timelines
Coordinate requirements integration across functions for the line
Run meetings to resolve equipment design and installation issues
Manage on-site installation planning with integrators and facilities
Support launch management for line readiness and handoff
Create and modify schedules
Define and monitor KPIs for engineering activities
Lead lessons learned and knowledge-sharing initiatives
Ensure manufacturability through DFM reviews
Drive PFMEA, Control Plans, PFDs and Standard Work
Define BIW manufacturing strategies for new programs and expansions
Lead process development for welding, hemming, rivets and finishing
Establish dimensional control strategies for BIW assemblies
Lead body accuracy improvement initiatives and quality loops during launches
Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for dimensional issues
Support fit-and-finish optimization with Quality and Operations
Implement Lean manufacturing and drive continuous improvement (Safety/Quality/OEE/Throughput/Labor/Productivity/Cost)
