Job summary

GMC in Riyadh seeks a skilled automotive mechanic to diagnose, inspect and repair light vehicles in a busy workshop environment.

You will follow manufacturer manuals and GMC procedures, use diagnostic tools, and maintain safety standards while communicating clearly with customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

To perform a variety of skilled mechanical tasks on automotive light vehicles repair, Provides quality services to customer vehicles in the areas of inspection, diagnosis, and repair utilizing the expertise attained through Manufacturer Certifications and/or years of automotive repair experience. Provides explanations as necessary for needed repairs to employees and customers in a courteous and professional manner.

Requirements

• Diagnose vehicle faults and perform repairs in accord with instructions provided by team leader or as per manufacturer's mechanical manuals. Perform work according to GMC target times, to achieving productivity targets, and quality standards of the Company
• Maintain tools and equipment neatly and in good operating condition. Report loss, breakage, and faults to the workshop controller
• Ensure clock times (on/off jobs) are accurate, and that actually work performed is accurately written on the R/O
• Inspect each vehicle for additional work requirements. Secure approval from Workshop Controller for parts replacement, and/or additional work, which may be required
• Notify Workshop Controller ahead of time if job completion deadline cannot be achieved
• Maintain control of replaced parts in accord with GMC procedures (warranty control, bagging if customer pay, core returns, scrap)
• Exercise care of customer's vehicles, utilizing covers and mats to avoid soiling the vehicle interior. Prior to beginning working on the vehicle, inspect for unreported damage or personal articles and advise Workshop controller of irregularities
• Make effective use of special tools and equipment to improve work quality and productivity
• Maintain thorough and current product knowledge, reading manufacturers TSB and Recall notices and other technical publications made available. Use safety equipment provided by the Company and notify Workshop Controller of unsafe practices observed in the workshop
• Utilize training provided by GMC and the Manufacturer to increase mechanical skills for the benefit of all parties. (Mechanical, customer, and GMC)
• Perform other duties, assignments by workshop controller

Required Skills

• Ideal Candidates must have similar experience in the automotive industry prefer dealership
• Good knowledge in mechanical of various service requirements and diagnosis of issues
• Good common in English communication skills, written and spoken
• Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
• Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)
• Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc
• Excellent physical condition
