Job summary

NEOM Green Hydrogen Company in the NEOM project environment seeks an ASU Field Operator to run and monitor the Air Separation Unit and utilities, ensuring safe, reliable operations and adherence to procedures.

You will perform daily routines, collect samples, apply LOTO, participate in shift rotations and on-call, and train new operators, contributing to site safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or technical equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of ASU/Utilities plant operations experience.
  • Experience in industrial plant environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor ASU & Utilities production plants safely and reliably.
  • Troubleshoot plant issues with Operations & Maintenance teams.
  • Perform daily and monthly operational routines per procedures and safety rules.
  • Collect daily process samples and apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
  • Maintain high housekeeping and support plant shutdown activities.

Job description

Air Products, ACWA Power, and NEOM have partnered to develop an $8 billion green hydrogen-based ammonia production facility in NEOM. The project integrates renewable solar, wind, and storage power to produce green ammonia for global export, with operations scheduled to commence in 2026.

Position Summary

The ASU Field Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the ASU & Utilities field production processes, including the Air Separation Unit, GAN supply pipeline, LIN storage tanks and vaporizers, LIN loading station, CW systems, DW systems, and Instrument Air (IA) plant.

The role ensures plant operations are carried out in accordance with company safety policies and site-specific procedures to achieve reliability, efficiency, and productivity goals while maintaining safe and reliable field operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and monitor ASU & Utilities production plants safely and reliably in accordance with NGHC standards.
  • Troubleshoot plant issues and collaborate with the Operations & Maintenance team to provide field support.
  • Perform daily and monthly operational routines in accordance with operating procedures, maintenance manuals, and safety requirements.
  • Collect daily process samples.
  • Apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures in the field.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the plant.
  • Support plant shutdown activities and field operations.
  • Contribute to maintaining site management systems, including MOC, BPs, SWIMs, and JSAs.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture with a commitment to achieving zero lost-time injuries.
  • Ensure compliance with EH&S standards during all operational activities.
  • Participate actively in NGHC safety programs and enforce safe work practices.
  • Understand and execute the Emergency Response Plan, taking appropriate action to protect personnel and ensure safe plant shutdown when required.
Operations Support & Communication
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Support operational communications across the plant.
  • Maintain a positive attitude while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work rotating shifts and participate in the on-call schedule as required.
Training & Development
  • Complete all required operational training and successfully pass competency validation reviews.
  • Provide training and coaching to new field operators.
  • Act as a trainer for newly assigned field operators.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education
  • High school diploma in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in ASU and/or Utilities plant operations.
  • Experience working in a similar industrial plant environment is preferred.
Skills & Technical Knowledge
  • Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
  • Experience interpreting PFDs, P&IDs, Single Line Diagrams, and Shutdown Matrices.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Good understanding of work permit systems and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) processes.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Proactive, honest, hardworking, and team-oriented.
  • Eagerness to learn and continuously develop.
  • Experience in ASU & Utilities plants is considered an advantage.
