Job summary

NEOM Green Hydrogen Company in Neom seeks an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join the O&M team for the hydrogen production plant. You will handle day-to-day electrical maintenance, including predictive, preventive, and corrective tasks, spares management, and support commissioning activities for new facilities.

You will work to NGHC safety policies, develop maintenance procedures, enter information into SAP, train new technicians, and respond to electrical outages to minimize production

Qualifications

• High school diploma in a technical discipline and 5–10 years of related plant electrical maintenance experience.
• Must work safely, in line with EH&S standards and site procedures.
• Experience with electrical equipment such as substation gear, motors, VFDs, switchgear, transformers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hydrogen production plant electrical systems, including preventive, predictive, and corrective tasks.
• Troubleshoot faults, repair equipment, and support commissioning activities for new plants.
• Enter maintenance data into SAP and develop procedures for electrical PM tasks.

Job description

The electrical maintenance technician role is a key member of the O&M team for NGHC hydrogen production plant.

The incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day electrical maintenance of the hydrogen production plant, which includes predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities, including spares management.

The incumbent shall perform maintenance activities in accordance with company safety policies and site-specific procedures and maintenance plans.

Based in Neom, the position reports to GHE hydrogen plant manager.

NATURE & SCOPE

The main functions of this position are:

• SAFETY IS FIRST, nothing is more important than safety, be fully aligned with all EH&S standards to achieve the goal of zero (0) lost time injuries at GHE.
• Be responsible for troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, installation of electrical equipment and supporting commissioning activities for new plants.
• Be familiar with all electrical equipment such as power substation equipment, induction and synchronous motors, protective relays, switchgear starters, PF compensation capacitor, MCC, UPS, VFD, equipment control systems, transformers, electrical heater/system, plant lightings, DC battery& charger system.
• You will respond to any electrical breakdown, carry out prompt inspection, analyse the fault, repair and re-commission affected plant and equipment to assure the minimum loss of production.
• Problem Solving/Prevention - Recognize existing or potential problems & implement measures to eliminate or reduce their impact. Includes making direct contact with manufacturer representatives and technical resources within to diagnose & solve problems encountered.
• Must be able to develop work scopes for equipment repair & overhaul, to prepare and provide technical reports as well as enter information into SAP to provide accurate documentation on equipment & information to enable others in the organization to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
• Develop procedures for electrical preventive maintenance tasks.
• Familiarity with test meters and communicators such as fluke meters, meggers, RTD/TC calibrators, pressure calibrators, and Hart communicators, etc.
• Participate in the planning and execution of minor and major shutdowns. Provide technical and hands on support as required during shutdowns.
• Actively participate in NGHC safety programs, promote, and enforce safety rules and good housekeeping methods.
• Candidates will be required to meet training requirements and successfully pass scheduled validation reviews.
• Build and maintain a good relationship with all customers and stakeholders to ensure close cooperation.
• Will be on call during certain periods of time.
• Strong commitment to team building, integrity, and diversity.
• Provide training to new maintenance technicians as required.
• Contribute to maintaining site management systems, e.g. MOC, BPs, SWIMs, JSAs

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES

• The position is responsible for the safe and reliable maintenance of the hydrogen production facility following NGHC standards.
• Will develop and update maintenance procedures.

People Management

• Will act as a new maintenance technicians’ trainer and will supervise contractor.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION and/or QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

High school diploma in a technical discipline and a minimum of 5 – 10 years of related plant electrical maintenance experience in the industrial gas, chemical, refining and or related industry.

MINIMUM YEARS EXPERIENCE IN SIMILAR JOB ROLE
