Assistant Professor of Biostatistics (CoM#171225)

Alfaisal University College of Medicine invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Biostatistics in the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology & Public Health. This position supports the College’s expanding research enterprise, MPH program, PhD tracks, and ongoing collaborations with national partners in health policy, epidemiology, and digital health.

We seek a candidate with strong expertise in advanced statistical analysis and modeling, epidemiological methods, causal inference, survival analysis, machine learning applications in healthcare, and the design/analysis of clinical and population-based studies.

Scholars whose research aligns with noncommunicable diseases, health services research, digital health analytics, lifestyle epidemiology, or national surveillance systems are strongly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic academic environment with active collaborations across Saudi Arabia, the GCC, and international institutions. The role includes teaching, supervising graduate students, leading methodological research, and contributing to departmental and institutional growth in biostatistics and public health analytics.

Job Description
  • Teach biostatistics and quantitative methods at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Contribute to curriculum development for MPH, MBBS, and PhD programs.
  • Conduct independent research in applied and theoretical biostatistics, epidemiologic modeling, or health data science.
  • Support faculty and students through statistical consultation and research design guidance.
  • Supervise MSc, MPH, and PhD theses involving quantitative and statistical methodologies.
  • Publish in peer-reviewed journals and contribute to collaborative, grant-funded research.
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university service and accreditation activities.

Preffered Qualification
  • PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology (with advanced quantitative focus), or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a university
  • Strong record of peer-reviewed publications, preferably in Q1 journals.
  • Demonstrated expertise in regression modeling, longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, causal inference, multilevel models, and statistical programming.
  • Proficiency in SPSS, R, STATA, SAS, Python, or similar statistical platforms.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and mentorship at the undergraduate or graduate level.
  • Experience in Bayesian statistics, machine learning, or predictive analytics.
  • Experience collaborating on public health, clinical, or population-based research.
  • Experience supervising graduate research or contributing to academic program development.
  • Experience contributing to national surveys, lifestyle surveillance systems, or health policy analytics.
  • Qualification from the western accredited universities will be preferred.
