The position oversees architectural teams, BIM specialists, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary interfaces throughout the complete project lifecycle. The manager acts as a senior technical authority for architectural design, ensuring drawings, specifications, BIM models, material selections, fire and life safety strategies, accessibility requirements, and construction documentation remain coordinated and technically sound. The role also supports clients and project leadership with clear design decisions, risk assessments, value engineering, and practical solutions to complex architectural challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architectural planning, design management, technical coordination, and delivery for complex commercial, transportation, infrastructure, and associated building projects.
- Manage architectural activities from concept and schematic design through detailed design, construction documentation, site support, and final completion.
- Provide technical leadership to architects, designers, BIM teams, and other architectural personnel.
- Review architectural drawings, design packages, specifications, technical reports, material schedules, and project submissions.
- Ensure architectural solutions comply with applicable building codes, authority regulations, fire and life safety requirements, accessibility standards, and project criteria.
- Maintain design excellence while ensuring solutions remain practical, buildable, maintainable, and appropriate to client objectives.
- Monitor architectural progress and quality across assigned projects to ensure agreed deliverables and deadlines are achieved.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and discipline leads to resolve design, staffing, productivity, schedule, technical, and quality issues.
- Manage architectural scope, design schedules, staffing, resources, and budget requirements.
- Prepare staffing plans and resource forecasts to support project workloads and business needs.
- Establish and maintain architectural design standards, technical procedures, documentation protocols, and quality assurance requirements.
- Review and improve architectural workflows, design review procedures, and documentation standards.
- Lead multidisciplinary coordination with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, ICT, security, landscape, BIM, and specialist disciplines.
- Review BIM models and coordination outputs to identify conflicts, interfaces, and constructability concerns.
- Oversee architectural BIM execution, digital modelling standards, information requirements, and documentation quality.
- Conduct architectural design reviews, technical workshops, coordination sessions, constructability reviews, and value engineering meetings.
- Act as a key architectural interface with clients, consultants, contractors, authorities, and senior project stakeholders.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities to support design approvals, permits, technical compliance, and code acceptance.
- Provide technical guidance on fire and life safety integration within architectural layouts and building systems.
- Identify complex architectural and multidisciplinary problems and develop practical, innovative, and commercially appropriate solutions.
- Support value engineering initiatives while protecting safety, functionality, technical quality, and architectural intent.
- Review design alternatives and recommend options that improve constructability, maintainability, cost efficiency, and project performance.
- Provide architectural support during construction, including review of shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, contractor queries, and proposed design changes.
- Participate in site inspections and construction-stage reviews to verify alignment with approved architectural requirements.
- Coordinate design changes arising from site conditions, authority comments, or construction constraints.
- Monitor technical interfaces between architectural elements and building systems to reduce rework and coordination risk.
- Support design risk management by identifying architectural issues that could affect cost, schedule, compliance, or construction.
- Mentor senior and junior architectural staff and support professional development through coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to succession planning and development of high-performing architectural teams.
- Promote collaborative working relationships across design, engineering, construction, digital delivery, and project management functions.
- Support business development activities, technical proposals, design competitions, and client presentations.
- Contribute architectural input to project pursuits, pre-contract strategies, and technical submissions.

Ideal Profile
- Bachelor 's Degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
- Minimum 20 years of progressive professional architectural experience.
- Significant experience in architectural design management, team supervision, and technical leadership.
- Internationally recognized professional architectural license or registration.
- Extensive experience delivering large, complex projects through concept, detailed design, construction documentation, and construction support stages.
- Strong background managing multidisciplinary architectural teams across major development programs.
- Expert knowledge of architectural design principles, international and local building codes, fire and life safety requirements, and accessibility standards.
- Strong understanding of integrated building systems and multidisciplinary design coordination.
- Proven experience reviewing architectural drawings, BIM models, specifications, reports, materials, and contractor technical submissions.
- Experience managing project scope, resources, architectural schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables.
- Strong understanding of constructability, maintainability, value engineering, and design optimization.
- Ability to resolve complex architectural, technical, regulatory, and multidisciplinary interface issues.
- Strong familiarity with authority approval processes, regulatory frameworks, contractual requirements, and design risk management.
- Experience establishing architectural design standards, governance processes, documentation requirements, and quality systems.
- Strong understanding of BIM execution and digital design coordination.
