This Position reports to :

Portfolio Excellence Manager

ABB Smart Buildings enables optimization of energy efficiency safety security and comfort for any building type through new installations or retrofit solutions. The Division offers integrated digital technologies to control HVAC lighting shutters and security in addition to energy distribution solutions including DIN rail products enclosures and emergency lighting through to industrial plugs and sockets and conventional wiring accessories accommodating for single family homes multiple dwellings commercial buildings infrastructure and industrial applications. The Divisions highly innovative technologies and digital solutions serve rising global demand among real estate developers owners and investors for smart building technologies that optimize energy distribution and building automation. The scalable solutions aim to deliver significant sustainable and financial benefits meeting social and environmental demands while being able to address even the most complex of customers carbon reduction strategies.

This role leads the end-to-end execution of global new product development & launch programs ensuring milestones targets and outcomes are successfully achieved. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills a high degree of ownership and accountability and a results-driven mindset. Success in this role requires effective cross-functional collaboration the ability to operate autonomously and a hands-on approach. The work model for the role is : hybrid. The ideal location is set to be Europe preferably Poland or Germany.

Key Responsibilities

  • Global New Product Development & Launch Program / Project Leadership : Lead complex global programs from concept to market managing multiple workstreams and interconnected projects under the programs. Responsibilities occasionally extend to overseeing product phase-out activities
  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Align diverse teams around shared objectives foster a positive team culture and drive delivery of project goals within established timelines.
  • Governance & Execution : Manage scope planning execution and monitoring using ABBs Gate Model ensuring performance quality and budget adherence.
  • Risk & Issue Management : Proactively identify communicate and mitigate risks and resolve impediment to ensure agile resilient program execution and minimize disruption
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders ensuring transparent communication managing expectations and leading regular steering committee meetings to align on progress and key decisions
  • Process Improvement : Promote continuous improvement contribute to governance enhancements and apply industry best practices in project management.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelors degree in business engineering supply chain or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 to 15 years experience in which at least 3 years leading large complex projects or programs in fast-paced cross-functional environments. Past experiences in product management Supply chain R&D Operations or other functions is highly valued.
  • Results-oriented and self-motivated with excellent prioritization abilities strong resilience under pressure and a clear sense of ownership and accountability
  • Skilled at synthesizing complex information into clear insights for executive audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal organizational and time-management skills with a team-oriented mindset and the ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across disciplines.
  • High-level understanding of both software and hardware (mechanical electronic) development with exposure to operations and supply chain general finance principles.
  • Familiar with EMS / ODM / Brandlable supplier models
  • Proficient in project management tools to support execution and planning (e.g. MS Project or similar).
