Head of Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics / Manufacturing) - Food Tech / Automation / CAD / SolidWorks / Simulation

I'm currently on the lookout for a Head of Engineering for an expanding, well‑funded food‑tech company looking to scale up operations and set up a new manufacturing facility due to demand.

This high‑growth startup, at the forefront of sustainable food technology, is creating a new generation of animal‑free meat to address a major climate challenge. They are at a pivotal moment, backed by over €20M in total funding and are transitioning from pilot to rapid scale. We are looking for a hands‑on Head of Engineering to lead this transformation. The core challenge for this role is to design and build a new, fully automated production facility from the ground up to scale output exponentially.

The position is based on‑site in Berlin and will involve building the facility from the ground up.

Salaries are between €110k‑150k base + stocks, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in automated manufacturing and 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Ideally experience from food‑tech / med‑tech / pharma or medical devices manufacturing.
• Ideally experience building successful manufacturing processes.
• Skilled in using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), electrical and controls software such as EPLAN, Beckhoff, Siemens, and mechanical simulation tools.
• Fluency in both English and German is essential.
