To continue this incredible adventure, we are currently looking for a Head of Corporate Finance & Finance Transformationto join our talented Finance team at ourBerlin HQ (3 days per week).
This role reports into the Director of Finance and will be crucial in driving the strategic direction of the finance organization, ensuring alignment with both corporate goals and regulatory requirements. This position requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in Accounting, Financial Reporting and System and Process automation of finance processes related to supply chain business and FinOps processes typical for consumer financing. The role is newly set up and will initially lead four direct reports, theteam lead AR/AP, the team lead for group accounting, the lead of customer payments, and the lead of the tax team. The role encompasses frequent interaction with the CFO and leadership team on strategic finance topics and companywide projects.
What you will contribute:
- Support, lead, and mentor four direct reports, fostering their growth and development.
- Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for accounting, tax, and financial compliance to support growth objectives.
- Champion best practices, drive automation of standard accounting processes, simplify our systems landscape, and ensure appropriate systems support for the financial and processes along the asset and customer lifecycle which are key to our business model.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in accounting and tax functions, leveraging technology and process automation.
- Partner with the IT team and guide our Payments team to ensure our payment service provider landscape is best practice and cost-efficient.
- Mentor and lead a high-performing accounting and tax team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Oversee all aspects of financial reporting and compliance with German GAAP (HGB).
- Ensure the timely and accurate closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts, with a focus on high-quality and audit-ready financial statements.
- Establish and monitor a system of internal controls together with the group accounting team to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, Chartered Accountant, or similar professional designation is preferred. Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s or MBA) is a plus.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in accounting & finance, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role. Preferably including scale-up experience.
- Experience in a complex finance environment with multiple European entities and deep knowledge of German GAAP and IFRS.
- Proven track record in managing finance transformation projects, including process automation and migration and improvements of ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA or similar) and related projects.
- Hands-on mentality and ability to navigate fast-paced and agile environments.
- AI tooling, agentic AI experience is a plus.
