Your Role

As an Applied Data Scientist, you will drive smart product development and portfolio management by designing data-driven tools and solutions. Your responsibilities include:

• Implementing advanced machine learning techniques and data modeling.
• Leading customer projects and contributing to R&T's digital strategy.
• Enhancing the digital platform PropheSY and supporting innovation initiatives.
• Aligning data science strategies with Group IT and advising on R&T requirements.
• Coordinating stakeholder needs and promoting best practices across teams.
• Supporting both cloud and on-premises solutions with scalable, efficient models.

About You

Education & Experience

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in data science within a research and technology environment.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Python and machine learning.
• Experience with Databricks, R, or KNIME.
• Basic knowledge of DevOps (Git, Docker, Bash).
• Familiarity with ModelOps tools (e.g., MLFlow) is a plus.

Languages

• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Proficient in German is highly desirable.

Additional Skills

• Project management experience is a plus.
• Open to new technologies and ideas.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Industry Experience

• Background in the flavor or food industry is a strong advantage.
