Your role

As Chief Medical and Research Officer, you will take on the role of providing strategic and medical-scientific leadership for the Medicine & Research division, which includes the Statistics, Translational Research and Data Management departments. You will sit on the Executive Board and report directly to the CEO.

What you bring to the table

  • A medical licence and at least 10 years' experience in a clinical role, ideally in oncology or a related field.
  • Several years of management experience in a scientific or medical environment (at least three years).
  • Proven experience in developing medical standards, guidelines and quality processes.
  • Ability to think strategically, analytically and entrepreneurially, with an eye for innovation and practical feasibility.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills in an international environment (fluency in German and English required).

Your mission

Translate complex clinical data and research findings into actionable insights, thereby connecting science, medicine, and operational excellence.

Your tasks

  • Lead and develop GBG's overall medical and scientific strategy – from study concept to clinical implementation.
  • Initiate and design innovative study concepts that integrate the latest findings from data analytics and translational research.
  • Monitor and evaluate ongoing clinical studies to ensure the highest quality standards and promote scientific excellence.
  • Work closely with the statistics, data management and translational research departments to enable evidence‑based decisions in real time.
  • Work with management to develop strategies that combine scientific impact, economic stability and operational efficiency.
