Your tasks
- You will be responsible for the overall technical architecture from workflow orchestration, LLM gateway, retrieval augmented generation to app layer and will manage customer projects.
- Together with the team, you establish a tech radar and architecture decision records and make "build vs. buy" decisions with an exit plan - quickly and transparently.
- Model orchestration (routing / fallbacks), hybrid retrieval + re-ranking, evals / golden sets and cost / latency tuning are your responsibility.
- You standardize observability (OpenTelemetry), error / performance monitoring, feature flags and CI / CD processes to improve the developer experience.
- You have a strong hands-on mentality and are explicitly involved in programming projects.
Your talents
- You master our tech stack hands-on : Kubernetes, Java or TypeScript, PHP Laravel and Python.
- Ideally, you have about six years of experience in software engineering (SaaS / Cloud) including architectural responsibility, as well as several years of practical experience with LLMs / RAG.
- You have already demonstrated team leadership experience and demonstrable decision-making competence through tech evaluations with ADRs or Tech-Radar.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud and orchestration, Kubernetes, REST / GraphQL and event architecture round off your technical profile.
- You are familiar with security / privacy basics such as SSO / OIDC, RBAC / ABAC, Secrets / KMS, audit logging and GDPR understanding as well as PSD2 / SCA.
- Operational excellence through observability, evals / canarying and incident management is a matter of course for you.
- Very good communication skills (German or English) and leadership experience in small, high-performing teams round off your profile.
