Responsibilities

  • You will operate the global Linux-based infrastructure services at IONOS and be given responsibility and creative freedom to work with a skilled team to ensure the smooth operation of our extensive global platform and drive its further development.
  • You will be responsible for our various IT infrastructure services (such as web servers, Haproxy, Puppet, Grafana, Prometheus, Git, PKI/CA, HSM, Vault, and the internal virtualisation platform) on several hundred systems in multiple data centres worldwide, ensuring their high availability.
  • You will analyse problems, eliminate malfunctions within the framework of the respective ITIL processes and document them.
  • You will carry out performance analyses and optimisations and evaluate new technologies.
  • In addition, you will participate in a rotating 2nd level on-call service for the team's own services together with the team.

Qualifications

  • Several years of professional experience and in-depth knowledge of Linux server system administration.
  • Knowledge of SSH, shell and remote server administration. Ideally, experience in the administration of large Linux environments and understanding of the associated challenges.
  • Know-how in a programming language (such as Python, Ruby, Golang or similar), as well as in automation and orchestration tools (e.g. Puppet).
  • Experience in setting up and operating Ceph clusters would be an asset.
  • Monitoring, troubleshooting and documentation are familiar concepts to you.
  • You have a structured and independent way of working, gained through studies or equivalent professional experience.
  • Good English skills, the ability to work in a team, and a communicative and open-minded attitude towards internal and international partners.
