Role overview

Do you have a passion for driving meaningful change through technology? Are you a master of IT strategy with deep experience in mainframe applications and infrastructure solutions? We are seeking a Senior IT Strategy Consultant for multi-disciplinary, complex engagements for mainframe modernization.

Responsibilities

• Delivering value to customers and Kyndryl by applying deep mainframe application & infrastructure expertise and industry experience
• Establishing milestones, setting quality targets, and managing the work of others
• Communicating complex technical insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Guiding customers in their strategy for mainframe optimization and modernization, on or off the mainframe platform
• Data integration and AI projects for mainframe

What you will do

As a trusted and experienced Consultant, you will be responsible for analyzing the customer's current state, defining IT Strategy including key outcomes, designing conceptual solutions, planning and executing design and implementation work (with support from technical specialists), and managing time, cost, and quality targets. You will develop IP and own assets, assemble and lead a team of consultants, and facilitate lessons learned to update methodologies and assets. You will spearhead modernization programs spanning people, culture, process, and technology.

Required Skills And Experience

• 12+ years Mainframe experience with at least 1 full Mainframe Modernization project
• Proven IT Consulting or IT Management Consulting experience with delivery and business development success
• Experience building relationships with senior C-level and IT executives; creating referenceable customers
• Ability to lead with a consultative approach across Kyndryl capabilities; work with Customer Partner; drive deals to closure
• Experience with end-to-end engagement from identification to delivery; being personally billable on engagements
• Proven creation, definition and development of patterns for Mainframe Modernization
• Fluent in German and English, written and spoken

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Architecture methodologies and leading-edge technology solutions with industry and business skills to influence clients; certification in hyperscalers
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to translate goals into architectural designs integrating distributed platforms with IBM Z; knowledge of IBMZ/IBMi integration patterns
• IBMZ/IBMi application-oriented problem solving with relevant tools
• Understanding of DevSecOps, Agile, Scrum; ability to optimize IT or cloud resource implementation
• Subject matter expertise in mainframe (System z, System i) and adjacent environments including cloud
