Overview
Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Aerospace Systems Engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). This is a W2 fixed-term (6 years) tenure-track professorship with the possibility for promotion to a tenured W3.
Responsibilities
Conduct research and teaching and promote the development of early-career scientists.
Appoint an expert in the research area of Systems Engineering with a focus on developing innovative methodologies, including model-based systems engineering (MBSE), digital twins, AI applications, and agile development processes for satellites, aircraft, and next-generation air mobility systems.
Teach courses in the university’s bachelor and master programs.
Expand the existing teaching portfolio of the Department in Systems Engineering with courses on Systems Architecture, Verification & Validation, and Digital Engineering, integrating across Aeronautics and Space programs through project-based learning and industry collaboration.
Qualifications
University degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification, as well as pedagogical aptitude.
Demonstrated initial scientific achievements with the capacity for independent research at the highest international level.
Substantial research experience abroad is expected.
