Technical Procurement Manager - EPC

Location: Germany

Company: ILOS projects GmbH

Scope: Full-time - hybrid / remote

WHO ARE ILOS?

ILOS is a fast-growing renewable energy company with a strong presence across Europe, backed by AXA IM Alts and committed to accelerating the energy transition. Since 2018, we have developed, built, and operated large-scale solar PV projects across seven core markets.

THE ROLE OVERVIEW

As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a highly skilled and technically minded electrical engineer to serve as the key link between our EPC and procurement teams.

This role is ideal for an engineer with strong technical insight who can translate complex project requirements into clear procurement specifications and ensure technical integrity throughout the supply chain. While prior procurement experience is not essential, a solid engineering background is, and procurement knowledge can be developed through on‑the‑job training.

As the Technical Procurement Manager, you will take ownership of defining and validating technical compliance with project requirements, leading the technical qualification of manufacturers, and developing supplier specifications that meet project and industry standards.

This includes reviewing and managing all technical documentation (datasheets, test reports, certifications), ensuring product compliance with international standards (e.g., IEC, ISO), and contributing to the development of warranty and quality requirements within contracts.

TASKS

  • Translate project technical requirements into supplier‑ready documentation and ensure that technical specifications of equipment and materials match project needs.
  • Review and manage technical documentation across the product life cycle.
  • Lead technical supplier qualification, including audits and capability assessments.
  • Define and ensure implementation of technical warranties and QA / QC measures.
  • Assist Project Managers and O&M in resolving technical issues related to materials or suppliers during project execution.
  • Provide input on technical risks, deviations from suppliers that may affect the project scope or timeline.
  • Monitor market developments and technology trends.

PROFILE

  • Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy)
  • 5+ years of technical procurement, engineering, or product qualification experience
  • Proven expertise in renewable energy equipment (e.g. solar module, inverters, racking system, transformers, BESS)
  • Strong knowledge of technical standards and documentation
  • Fluent in English and German; other languages are an asset
