This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished commercial leader to take charge of the German business of a leading international wine group. With responsibility for a €200m+ platform and over 500 employees, you will be accountable for shaping and executing the strategy to unify operations, strengthen retailer partnerships, and drive profitable growth. This is a high-impact leadership position with full P&L accountability, a mandate to professionalise the business, and the scope to embed a performance-led culture across the organisation

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the German P&L, delivering profitable growth and improved returns.
  • Lead the unification of three entities under one governance and performance model.
  • Elevate key account management with German retailers and discounters, strengthening private label partnerships.
  • Drive service improvements and optimise logistics, S&OP, and cost-to-serve.
  • Sponsor an ERP-enabled business transformation to enhance process discipline and decision-making.
  • Advance the sustainability agenda, including eco-label innovation and responsible sourcing.
  • Inspire, develop, and align a sales and support organisation of ~30 field reps plus managers and functional teams.
  • Coordinate with group export teams to grow international sales opportunities

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent in related area
  • Proven track record as a country P&L leader, MD, or GM in a B2B retail-facing business.
  • Knowledge of German retail, particularly discounters and private label.
  • Demonstrated success in building joint business plans and driving margin improvement.
  • Experience unifying multi-entity businesses and embedding structured governance.
  • Strong ERP transformation sponsor with a record of improving service and efficiency.
  • Inspirational people leader who can raise capability and accountability in a matrix environment.
  • Strategic, hands-on, and data-driven, with cultural agility and resilience.
  • Fluent in German and English
