Software Engineer BE - Payment (m / f / d)

Overview

With our Online marketplace success and global growth, we’re expanding our team in Düsseldorf and seeking a skilled backend engineer to help scale our marketplace. You’ll play a key role in enhancing our platform by implementing and maintaining features that ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability of our core marketplace services. As part of our agile, cross-functional teams, you’ll collaborate on key areas of the customer journey, contributing creative solutions that drive continuous improvements. With a clear engineering career path, you’ll have ample opportunities for growth and advancement.

Qualifications

• Technical Expertise: A strong foundation in back-end development. Proficiency in PHP (Symfony) and hands-on experience with MySQL databases.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, GCP, Kafka, caching, and system architecture is a strong plus.
• Experience in the Payment field, with payment service providers, marketplace platforms, or transaction-heavy systems is highly desirable.
• Initiative: You are proactive and self-driven, understand both technical and business challenges, and can set the right priorities.
• Teamwork: You enjoy collaborating closely with developers, product managers, tech leads, and UI/UX designers, fostering professional, respectful relationships and remaining open to feedback, while also sharing your knowledge with your teammates.
• Business Mindset: You prioritize long-term goals and vision over temporary obstacles, making technical decisions that support business objectives.
• Communication Skills: You are fluent in English, our business language, and can communicate effectively
