ASIC's Enforcement and Compliance Group (ECG) oversees initial inquiries, compliance, and enforcement action across multiple sectors. In 2024-25, ECG began over 240 investigations, and obtained over $100 million in civil penalties and multiple criminal convictions and banning orders.
Enforcement Inquiries and Compliance (EIC) teams handle early-stage misconduct investigations and decide whether cases advance to further investigation or seek administrative or compliance outcomes.
Investigations teams manage complex cases through the entire investigation process, conduct related civil litigation, and support criminal prosecutions conducted by the Commonwealth DPP.
Senior Lawyer positions are currently open in both Investigations and EIC teams. This recruitment will create a pool to fill current and future vacancies within ECG.
