OUR CLIENT

A leading worldwide specialist in the development, manufacture and supply of metalworking fluids, a leader in custom chemical solutions.

In Europe, the company manufactures and supplies a wide range of metalworking products, including water-based and straight oil coolants for metal cutting and grinding.

The sales and distribution take place through its own sales branches in nine different European countries as well as via distributors in other countries.

THE ROLE

The Technical Service Manager (TSM) is responsible for managing the assigned customer base from a Technical perspective, maintaining and growing the local business. Managing the current and future product line and takes the lead to start tests with the new developed products so the overall product line will be future proof.

The TSM is also the trainer for new Sales Engineers for existing and new products. The TSM reports directly to the Sales Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing technical support to customers.
  • Providing technical training to team and customers.
  • Providing support to Branch Manager on customer / segment related business development opportunities.
  • Visiting clients and prospects together with Sales Engineer / Sales Manager.
  • Identifying new growth opportunities in the business area and providing the technical support to acquire these.
  • Initiating and supporting new product launches.
  • Providing feedback on product performance to Headquarters and has an important role in the development of new products.
  • Taking a leading role in “Technical” driven activities.
  • Interpreting and communicating laboratory results.
  • Managing a small team of TS-engineers if applicable.
  • Member of the Engineering management team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Chemical or Technical Engineering.
  • Manufacturing process or production experience, ideally gained in an organization involved in Metal Working.
  • Understanding of actual Environmental, Health and Safety legislations and its impact.
  • Proven track record of achievements.
  • Fluent in local language and English. Additional language skills are considered a plus.
  • Current network in Metalworking fluids / industrial cleaners.
  • Fluency in German and English.

SKILLS

  • Preferably a Degree in Chemical or relevant Technical Engineering.
  • Fundamental understanding of general finance and management.
  • Fluent in German and English. Additional language skills are considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of cleaners, heat treatment and special lubrication is preferable due to product line extensions.
