Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Lifts and Electrical Engineering, or Building Services Escalators
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required as a baseline
• Registration with a recognized Engineering Council or Professional Board
• Specialized training or certification in elevator and escalator systems design, installation, and maintenance
• 8+ years design, installation, inspection, and maintenance of lifts and escalators
• 5+ years in senior technical advisory or supervisory roles on large-scale building or infrastructure projects
• Experience in safety compliance, performance testing, and modernization of vertical transportation systems
• Experience evaluating contractor designs and ensuring procurement and construction standards
• Experience on public sector projects, donor-funded programs, or high-rise commercial developments
• Familiarity with the regulatory environment in Rwanda and/or the East African region; English language proficiency

Qualifications

• Transportation Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, (Lifts and Electrical Engineering, or Building Services Escalators) Expert Engineering from a recognized university.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required as a baseline.
• Valid registration with a recognized Engineering Council or Professional Board.
• Specialized training or certification in elevator and escalator systems design, installation, and maintenance is mandatory.

Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the design, installation, inspection, and maintenance of lifts and escalators.
• At least 5 years of experience in senior technical advisory or supervisory roles on large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in safety compliance, performance testing, and modernization of vertical transportation systems.
• Proven track record in evaluating contractor designs, reviewing technical specifications, and ensuring compliance with procurement and construction standards.
• Experience working on public sector projects, donor-funded programs, or high-rise commercial developments is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with the regulatory environment in Rwanda and/or the East African region will be considered an asse t. Proficiency in English Language is a mu st.
