Job summary

BAE Systems in Qatar seeks a Rectification Controller with strong Typhoon aircraft knowledge to lead a maintenance team and ensure regulatory compliance. You will manage maintenance records, coordinate recovery time estimates, and brief pilots on aircraft limitations.

The role requires substantial experience in aviation safety standards, Typhoon familiarity, and the ability to supervise and develop staff while meeting short-to-medium term delivery targets.

Qualifications

• Engineering Apprenticeship with City & Guilds 2675/2661 or equivalent.
• Engineering degree in aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionic or related field.
• Minimum 2 years working at Supervisor level prior to undertaking this role.
• 5 years practical experience applying aviation safety standards and operating practices.
• 2 years relevant work experience as an operator within aircraft maintenance environment.
• 6 months experience on Typhoon type (in the last two years).
• Comprehensive knowledge of Acceptable Means of Compliance.
• Management training Typhoon Avionic or Mechanical Trade 'Q' Course or equivalent.
• Human Factors - Standard Course Specification.
• E&PW Awareness - Standard Course Specification.
• ITAR Awareness - Standard Course Specification.
• IT Literate

Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership and supervision to team members under your direct supervision.
• Ensuring that all maintenance activities are appropriately recorded and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems.
• Perform Rectifications Control tasking and update ESS State Board progressing estimates and forecasts of aircraft recovery times.
• Brief squadron authorised pilot regarding aircraft limitations.
• Undertake and complete maintenance and diagnostic activities on an aircraft or components.
• Supervise team to ensure maintenance is undertaken to schedule and escalate issues.
• Ensure staff are competent and approved for the allocated tasks.
• Maintain task authorisation for working on aircraft or components in line with regulatory requirements.
• Meet agreed delivery targets in the short to medium term through supervision of others.
• Undertake support tasks to maintain compliance with MOE.
• Develop team members using formal assessment processes and effective communication.
• Undertake fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for found faults.
• Ability to scope and carry out independent inspections.
• Meet delivery targets at a tactical level through supervision of personnel.
