The Opportunity

HSBC is seeking a Teller Officer to support International Wealth and Personal Banking, delivering day-to-day branch cash operations and customer transactions. This role focuses on maintaining strong operational standards while minimising operational risk across teller activity. You’ll process cash and vouchers in line with cash handling procedures and internal guidelines while meeting service expectations such as agreed SLAs. You’ll also support related branch responsibilities including outward clearing cheques, card and PIN/cheque book handling and ATM duties where allocated. Success in this role means accurate processing, consistent compliance with Central bank and internal requirements and reliable service for customers and colleagues.

What you'll be doing

• Maintain operational standards and efficiency while minimising operational risk
• Complete vouchers in line with FIM/BIM and Cash Handling Procedures to protect the bank from financial loss
• Process outward clearing cheques within SLA and ensure they are handled on a timely basis
• Ensure compliance with Central bank requirements and internal guidelines
• Discharge allocated branch ATM duties where applicable
• Register and deliver Wealth and Personal Banking credit cards, debit cards and retained cards
• Register and deliver RBWM PINs and cheque books including balancing and reversals
• Receive cash deposits in LCY and FCY including identifying forged versus genuine notes
• Pay cash and process related vouchers after verifying customer signatures
• Prepare and deliver cash bundles to the chief cashier to keep cash holdings within set limits

What we're looking for

• Experience in the delivery of excellent customer service standards in a branch environment would be an advantage.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present professionally with customers and colleagues
• Use PC systems confidently to complete day-to-day processing.
