Job summary

Mekdam Technical Services seeks an experienced Telecom Technician with a strong background in Oil & Gas projects, both onshore and offshore. The ideal candidate must have hands‑on expertise in installing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining a wide range of telecom and ELV systems.

Offshore experience is mandatory. The role requires a Diploma in Engineering (Electronics / Electrical / Telecommunications) and 5–7 years of Oil & Gas telecom experience, with offshore certifications such as

Qualifications

Diploma in Engineering (Electronics / Electrical / Telecommunications).
5-7 years' experience in Oil & Gas telecom maintenance and installation.
Mandatory offshore experience with valid offshore certificates (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
Strong knowledge of network cabling standards and fiber optic systems.
Hands-on skills in radio communication systems – TETRA, VHF, UHF.
Experience in CCTV and Access Control installation and configuration.

Responsibilities

Install, test, commission, and maintain telecom systems offshore and onshore.
Perform installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of telecom systems including structured cabling, fiber optics, TETRA, VHF/UHF, CCTV, ACS, and PAGA.
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance per Oil & Gas standards.
Support commissioning teams during project handover and SAT/FAT procedures.
Ensure compliance with HSE standards during all site activities.
Prepare technical reports, update logs, and coordinate with supervisors/engineers.
Provide support during shutdowns, offshore rotations, and emergency call-outs.
