Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Technical Director to lead our airport project in Doha, Qatar. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all technical infrastructure, systems, and operations that support the airport's mission‑critical functions. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with strategic leadership capabilities, driving innovation while ensuring operational excellence, safety, and regulatory compliance across all airport systems and technology platforms.

• Develop and execute comprehensive technical strategies aligned with airport operational goals and international aviation standards


• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of airport technology systems, including AODB, baggage handling, security, and passenger information systems


• Lead and mentor a diverse technical team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and operational excellence


• Manage technical budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement processes to optimize cost‑efficiency and system performance


• Ensure compliance with ICAO regulations, local aviation authority requirements, and international safety protocols


• Analyze system performance metrics and implement data‑driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime


• Coordinate with airport stakeholders, including operations, security, and customer service teams, to ensure seamless technical support


• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for all critical airport systems


• Conduct regular audits and assessments of technical infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities and implement preventive measures


• Stay current with emerging aviation technologies and industry best practices, recommending strategic upgrades and innovations

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in airport operations, aviation technology, or related infrastructure management


• Degree educated in Electrical


• Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical leadership or management role overseeing teams and complex systems


• Proven expertise in airport operational systems, including AODB, baggage handling systems, security systems, and maintenance management platforms


• Strong knowledge of aviation industry regulations, ICAO standards, and local regulatory requirements in the Middle East region


• Advanced proficiency in IT infrastructure, network management, cybersecurity, and system integration


• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical problems and implement efficient, organized solutions


• Excellent project management skills with experience managing large‑scale technical implementations


• Strong vendor management and procurement experience


• Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities with a track record of building high‑performing technical teams


• Strategic thinking and visionary approach to technology planning and organizational development


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills


• Professional certifications in airport operations, IT management, or aviation technology (preferred)


• Experience working in international airport environments or multi‑cultural settings (preferred)
