Job summary

AECOM in Doha is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to support the planning, scheduling, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of airport construction and fit-out projects.

The role will work closely with the Project Manager, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project activities are properly planned, progress is accurately monitored, delays are identified, and corrective actions are followed through to successful completion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • 7-10 years of experience in planning and scheduling within construction, infrastructure, or airport projects.
  • Hands-on experience with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and data analysis.
  • Experience coordinating with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager in planning, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of airport projects.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain project schedules, baseline programmes, lookahead programmes, and progress trackers.
  • Monitor planned vs. actual progress and identify delays, critical activities, and schedule risks.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams to collect progress updates and follow up on pending activities.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports, dashboards, presentations, and executive summaries.
  • Prepare Minutes of Meetings, action trackers, and follow up with responsible stakeholders for timely closure.
  • Monitor critical path, milestones, project deliverables, and key interfaces.
  • Assist in preparing recovery programmes and mitigation plans for delayed activities.
  • Coordinate with Document Control to ensure accurate tracking of project documents, submissions, and approvals.
  • Support project meetings through agenda preparation, progress presentations, and action follow-up.
  • Provide regular schedule and progress updates to the Project Manager and management team.

Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experiencedPlanning Engineerto support the planning, scheduling, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of airport construction and fit-out projects. The role will work closely with the Project Manager, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project activities are properly planned, progress is accurately monitored, delays are identified, and corrective actions are followed through to successful completion.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, reporting, stakeholder coordination, and project controls, preferably withinairport, aviation, commercial, or complex infrastructure projects.
