Job summary

Gulf Energy Technology & Projects - Projects is seeking a Cost Control Engineer to oversee budgets, expenditures, and cost performance across EPC projects. You will prepare forecasts, verify invoices, and maintain CBS-based cost control documentation.

The role demands expertise in cost estimating, budgeting, EVM, and risk management, with strong analytical and communication skills to support project decisions and ensure policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Finance, or Quantity Surveying.
• 3–7 years in cost control or project controls in Oil & Gas or EPC.
• Knowledge of cost estimating, budgeting, forecasting, EVM, CBS.
• Proficiency in cost reporting, financial analysis, risk identification.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Timely cost reporting and budget variance control.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and overall cost performance.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Track project progress against approved budgets and schedules.
• Review contractor invoices, claims, and change orders for cost accuracy.
• Assist in preparing project budgets, cost estimates, and CBS.
• Identify cost risks and opportunities for cost optimisation.
• Maintain accurate cost records and reporting documentation.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, procurement, finance, and construction teams.
• Ensure compliance with cost control policies and project requirements.
