Job summary

The InterContinental Doha Beach & Spa is seeking a Steward to support our kitchens and F&B operations with the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation. You will clean and sanitise equipment, maintain hygiene in back-of-house areas, and assist with the movement and delivery of clean items during busy service periods.

Experience in stewarding or hotel environments is preferred; training can be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in Stewarding, Kitchen Operations or Housekeeping is an advantage.
• Previous hotel or restaurant experience preferred, but training can be provided.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.

Your Day to Day

As a Steward, you will play an important role in supporting our kitchens and Food & Beverage operations by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, and organisation throughout the back-of-house areas. You will work closely with our Culinary and Food & Beverage teams to ensure that all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, and service items are cleaned, sanitised, and readily available for daily operations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery, and other operating equipment.
• Operate dishwashing and cleaning equipment safely and correctly.
• Ensure all items are cleaned and sanitised to the required hotel and food safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchens, dishwashing areas, stores, and other back-of-house areas.
• Support the Culinary and Food & Beverage teams with the timely delivery and collection of clean equipment and utensils.
• Ensure kitchen equipment and operating supplies are stored correctly and safely.
• Assist with the movement and handling of kitchen equipment, supplies, and deliveries when required.
• Maintain clean and organised stewarding areas throughout the shift.
• Follow all cleaning schedules and departmental procedures.
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely and according to established instructions.
• Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is used when required.
• Support waste collection, segregation, and disposal in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Help minimise breakage, wastage, and unnecessary use of water, chemicals, and other resources.
• Report damaged equipment, maintenance issues, safety hazards, or shortages to the Stewarding Supervisor.
• Follow all HACCP, hygiene, health, safety, and hotel standards.
• Support the team during busy service periods, special events, banquets, and other high-volume operations.
• Maintain a professional, respectful, and cooperative attitude towards colleagues at all times.

What we need from you:

• Previous experience in Stewarding, Kitchen Operations, Housekeeping, or a similar hospitality environment is an advantage.
• Previous hotel or restaurant experience is preferred, but training can be provided for suitable candidates.
• Basic understanding of hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work as part of a multicultural team.
• Hardworking, reliable, and responsible attitude.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
• Willingness to learn and follow established procedures.
