Job summary

BLJ Worldwide seeks an English Writer/Editor for a Qatar-based role within its Sports & Entertainment practice. You will craft and edit speeches, website content, press materials and other collateral, ensuring brand voice and client strategy are reflected across local and international audiences.

You should have 5+ years editing experience, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and strong writing skills. The role may involve events and fast-paced client work in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Native English speaker or bilingual writer with 5+ years of content editing experience in-house or agency.
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, international relations, political science, English or related disciplines.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills; competency testing may include Arabic–to–English translation.
• Background in sports writing preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, strong decision-making and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit and develop written collateral including speeches, website content and press materials.
• Develop creative content using brand voice and reflect client strategy.
• Implement brand guidelines and tailor content for local, regional and international audiences.
• Collaborate to create editorial calendars and guide day-to-day and strategic editorial direction.
• Generate creative ideas across media platforms and execute them effectively.
• Translate complex briefs into engaging narratives for multiple audiences.
• Manage multiple projects with tight deadlines and high quality.
• Support with out-of-hours requests or event coverage as required.
• Take on project management responsibilities as assigned.
