Job summary

Client of Brunel in Doha is seeking an experienced SHES professional to lead risk assessment, safety compliance, and incident investigations across oil & gas projects.

You will develop and implement SHES management systems, deliver training, and coordinate with contractor emergency response. Excellent English communication and leadership are essential.

This role requires 8 years of SHES experience in oil & gas, with the ability to influence decisions and drive continuous safety improvements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Identify and control project risks using risk assessments, Method Statements and JSAs to ensure safe execution.
• Conduct regular audits and safety inspections to ensure risk controls are in place and effective.
• Conduct safety observations to identify risks and improve safety performance.
• Provide onboarding and job-specific training to ensure a competent workforce.
• Coordinate with Contractor Emergency Response Team to implement Contractor’s Emergency Response Plans.
• Investigate incidents and near misses to identify causes and corrective actions.
• Participate in lessons learned activities to share knowledge and improve safety performance.
• Participate in SHES Steering Committee meetings to review performance and drive safety improvements.
• Maintain coordination with construction, project and operations teams to resolve SHES issues.

Job description

Bachelors degree in sciences, safety, health, environment, security, or engineering or NEBOSH National/International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, SHES related NVQ level 5, or British Safety Council Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health. 8 years' experience in SHES in the Oil & Gas Industry. Broad experience in execution of major projects and in the Brownfield of Onshore/Offshore production facilities. Experience with Oil & Gas companies, Contractors, or Service Companies. Knowledge of relevant SHES management systems and programs. Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills. Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to influence decisions using presentation, negotiation, and facilitation skills. Ability to manage development and implementation of Projects Managements Systems adapted to Oil & Gas industry. Requires strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
