Senior Static Mechanical Engineer – Plant Reliability

Job summary

SPIE Global Services Energy in Qatar seeks a Static Mechanical Engineer to deliver high-level technical expertise, design validation, asset integrity management and engineering support for static equipment and piping within a petrochemical/processing facility.

You will lead major turnarounds, ensure compliance with ASME B31.3/VIII, perform stress analyses, participate in MOC processes, and coordinate with EPC contractors and vendors to maximize plant reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in mechanical engineering in heavy chemical/ refinery environments.
• Fluent English communication (written and verbal) for reports and vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve design calculations, data sheets, drawings, and specifications for modifications or new procurement of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and tanks.
• Generate and review P&IDs, PMS, and MTOs to meet international standards; develop plots and route critical pipelines.
• Perform piping stress analyses to ensure systems withstand high pressures and temperatures.
• Lead plant modifications via MOC to ensure safety and design integrity.
• Prepare and approve technical deliverables for replacement projects, including scope of work and vendor reviews.
