Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a Senior Static Equipment Engineer in Qatar's Mesaieed area to lead static equipment design for capital projects, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers and reformer components. You will review specs, manage vendor bids, and ensure ASME/API compliance throughout FEED, detailed design and procurement.

The role requires 8–12 years of experience, a mechanical engineering degree, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent required.
• 8-12 years of static equipment engineering experience, preferably in ammonia/urea projects.
• API 510/570/653 certification is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII and procurement processes; excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead static equipment engineering for capital projects (AMMONIA/UREA) from concept through procurement.
• Prepare and review specifications, datasheets, and requisitions for pressure vessels, tanks, exchangers, columns, reactors, and filters.
• Manage technical evaluation of vendor bids and clarify complex engineering queries during procurement to ensure compliant suppliers.
• Own and maintain Company static equipment design standards and specifications.
• Capture lessons learned and update static equipment specifications.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, third-party consultants, and other engineering disciplines across all lifecycle phases.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior Static Equipment Engineers.

• The Senior Static Equipment Engineer leads static equipment engineering for capital projects across the Ammonia and Urea Complex, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reformer furnace and tubes, and high-pressure urea/carbamate equipment, from concept and feasibility through FEED, detailed design, and procurement of new equipment.

• Prepare and review static equipment technical specifications, datasheets and requisition package for pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, filters, and any pressure equipment.
• Manage the technical evaluation of vendor bids and clarify complex engineering queries during the procurement phase to ensure only technically qualified suppliers are selected verifying compliance with ASME/API codes and Company specifications.
• Own and maintain Company static equipment design standards and specifications.
• Capture design and fabrication lessons learned into updated static equipment specifications.
• Manage time, cost, and quality across multiple ongoing projects simultaneously
• Manage the technical interface with other Engineering disciplines, Procurement, and Construction(EPC) contractors third-party engineering consultants during all project lifecycle phases.
• Provide technical mentoring and guidance to the Static Equipment Engineer on project scopes

• API 510/570/653 certification is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII and project procurement processes and familiarity with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, PV Elite, CAESAR II) Excellent communication and presentation skills with absolute fluency in English
