Job summary

Aspetar in Doha seeks a senior Sports Medicine physician to oversee comprehensive care for athletes and active individuals across Outpatients, Screening and NSMP programs. You will lead diagnoses, rehabilitation oversight, and return-to-play decisions in a high-performance setting.

The role requires formal Sports Medicine specialization, long-term clinical experience, and the ability to mentor staff while contributing to research and clinical education.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12–15 years overall medical experience with at least 5 years in clinical Sports Medicine.
• Formal specialization in Sports Medicine is expected; post graduate training preferred.
• Experience with elite, professional and recreational athletes in athletic contexts.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive diagnoses and treatment of sports or activity related injuries.
• Educate athletes on injury prevention, counselling, and return-to-play decisions.
• Order and interpret imaging and laboratory results as part of care.
• Coordinate with other medical experts and supervise rehabilitation processes.
• Develop exercise programs for conditioning rehabilitated athletes.
• Lead emergency response procedures and contribute to research in sports medicine.
• Teach and mentor clinical fellows, residents, interns and students.
• Inform coaches and trainers on medical condition status of athletes.
